What I liked about Dark Passages was that the three characters who save the world were basically people although each one had a talent. One was an ex-nun who speaks an ancient Biblical language, another an architect, and the third an actor. The actor had been with the CIA but was not a trained agent. W.E.B. Griffin called them "unlikely heroes" who have to save the world. I am bored with super heroeswho are invincible killing machines or who have sophisticated weapons. Having three reasonably ordinary people deal with the ancient world and evil, was interesting. I also liked the idea that they had to rely upon their wits and not modern weapons. The way the ancient world was described was interesting. It was well researched. I highly recommend the book.

Totally enjoyable reading

I bought this book on impulse. I wasn't sure it would be interesting. After just a few pages, I realised I had picked a gem. It has a lot of history of the area tied in but I didn't find it intrusive at all. I am not the type of reader that likes endless detail and desription. I felt that this had just the right amount. It kept my attention thruout and I wholly recommend it

Dark Passage

Dark Passage was definitely written to entertain the reader--and that it does with a cast of intriguing characters, and a fast, energetic, and imaginative plot that held me spellbound through 464 action packed pages. To use a hackney expression, "I couldn't put the book down." Because of a modern day quirk in the space-time continuum, three people, with seemingly nothing in common, are recruited as time-travelers by the U.S. government. Their mission: Return to Jerusalem, at the time of Jesus Christ, to prevent an assassination--that if successful would have disastrous cosequences on future generations. In the "red-light-district" of Marseilles, France, we are introduced to Marie, who may be a saint or sinner. On a stage in London, England, we meet Conway, an American Shakespearean actor with a pension for the heroic. And, finally, incarcerated in a prison camp in Israel, we are introdduced to David, a disillusion architect and former Israeli soldier. With each of them possessing unique and specific skills, essential to the extraordinary mission, they are extracted and swept away to a scientific facility, in Los Alamos, New Mexico, from where, they embark upon their adventurous and dangerous mission.

Would make a good movie

Junius Podrug is brilliant at capturing your imagination. Dark Passage is adventures and exciting. (It's a three alarm.} You just can't put the book down. Just the thought of time travel is exciting. But this time travel carries with it a plot that is unimaginable. Dark Passage holds your attention and keeps you wanting more. It would make a great movie. L.Rider

.....take the time to go back in time...

September 28, 2002, Dark Passage is full of adventure and excitment. Constantly taking a new twist that leaves a reader wanting more. To put the book down, that is something you won't want to do. there are very few books that leave a person wanting more, but Dark Passage is one of those books. The discription and imagination that went into the writing of Dark Passage is phenomenal. Mr. Podrug is brilliant at keeping the readers attention. To go back in time! That alone would be something nobody would pass up. Dark Passage: Read it you'll love it
