tried and true children's entertainment

One of the best children's books I've ever read. This book teaches childeren a lesson in overcoming tragedy while enterttaining them with slapstick cartoonish comedy. I know now that the difficulties that Ms. Estlack went through to get this book published where well worth the trials.

Beautiful Illustrations!

Ms. Estlack's work is incredibly vibrant--I have difficulty resisting the temptation to tear the pages from the book so I can decorate the walls of my home with this book's illustrations.The story is quite touching as well, though I'm not sure that it's really geared for 9-12 year-olds; I think a younger audience would be more appreciative.
