My All Time Fav

I am a 38 year old mom of 2, and this is my all time favorite book. I requested it all the time as a child, and I have shared it with my boys. No fancy, bright colors. Nothing complicated, just the sweet, simple message that it's always best to be "just plain old" you!

Another one of my favorites!

I use this book at school in teaching the children to like who they are and to know you do not have to dress in a certain way or wear you hair in a certain fashion to be considered special. The kids all love to hear the Dandelion story over and over again!

My 5 Year Old's Favorite Book

My 5 year old daughter takes this book out of the school library every week. Every once in a while we have to insist she gets something else because we're tired of reading it over and over. But it is a wonderful story with a very good lesson. I've decided to buy it so the other kids at school can have a chance to read the library copy.

Fancy clothes don't make you dandy!

What a lovely children's book!...I love the simple illustrations and the sweet story which is a lot of fun to read to a toddler with a wonderful lesson for us all: Fancy clothes don't make you dandy, it's what's inside that makes us special!...

Warm and Happy Childhood Memories

Dandelion brings back such happy memories for me. I think I checked that book out of the library every Saturday as a child. It taught me that it is ok to be who I am. Kind of a childs view of "To thine own self be true". I know there are many wonderful new children's books out there. This is a classic that should not be missed, by anyone, young or old. If I had a nickel for each time my mother read this book to me--I would be a millionaire for sure--but I am richer by far in warm memories from that wonderful time. Get this book--you won't regret it.

A Wonderful Book for Both Parents and Kids

"Come as you are," says the invitation to Jennifer Giraffe's taffy-and-tea party. But Dandelion decides to make himself over -- and to his surprise, no one is impressed. A good lesson for children (and their parents) on the nature of true friendship and genuineness, and the folly of appearing to be someone you're not. This is a terrific book. One of my daughter's favorites, not to mention to mine!
