Fathers Day

A wonderful story to read in celebration of Fathers Day. Especially if you have a daughter.

Shall we dance?

Dancing with Daddy One Saturday night, a girl and her daddy begin dancing in the kitchen while Mama looks on. Soon they are dancing out the door and into the fields, where first the cows, then the trees, then all the animals begin dancing along as well. A silly story and good for bedtime.

Rare book celebrates strong father-daughter relationship

If you pay attention to the stories you read your children, you may notice that in most the father is either not mentioned at all, or if present may be portrayed in an unflattering light. Why condition your child to think that way? If you are instead looking for a book that celebrates a strong positive relationship between a father and his daughter, this is one of the few books that does so, and one of the best. I have friends who say this book helped them develop a special bond with their young daughters, and that the book remains a favorite of their now older daughters.

My 8 year old son and I just listened to Willy Welch read thisbook to a room full of kids of all ages. Even the smallest kids werelistening to him. This a book that is on my Christmas list for other kids in my family.
