A Journey

I think the author realistically tells us about her challenge in caring for a very difficult person. I slowly saw the change in Attias--from fear and hatred to admiration and love for Mrs. Bromley. The writing is so subtle that I was not able to remember when and where Attias' feelings changed. I think this is an accomplishment for a new author. As Mrs. Bromley began to decline, Attias looked for small indications of Bromley's former self. She was her old self when she was again obnoxious! I think it is interesting that the author and we can put a positive value on behaviors of the very ill, behaviors we ordinarily would find disagreeable. Attias compares Mrs. Bromley's hurtful ways with Attias former husband. Attias apparently is planning a book about this man. It will be interesting to see if she draws on her experience with Mrs. Bromley to understand him better. This reader wants to continue with Attias on her fascinating journey.

Well done!

The author drapes the dark and tragic side of Alzheimer's disease with a cover of humor and hope. A truly enjoyable book. Sam D

Wonderful read!

I haven't read other works by this author but I sure will look for more books to come. THe characters are human and well developed. She managed to keep an otherwise grisly topic light as well as entertaining. There is a sense of hope and fulfillment with a wonderful and realistic ending.

I loved the ending

I know I know, I won't tell anyone what the ending is but I will say that it's the strongest part of the book. I found myself thinking about the characters days after I finished the book.

Fun and touching

Before I realized it the book was over! I wished it had been a little longer. It was fun and so easy to read. Really fun characters although the main character is at times somewhat annoying and self-centered
