Dance of Seduction

The day a drunk driver injured Ellie Dawson, her life was irrevocably changed. Her life would never be the same. In the span of a few seconds she lost everything that had meant anything to her. Her fiancé broke their engagement when he found out she lost their baby. If that blow wasn't devastating enough, when the doctors told her the injuries she sustained would prevent her from having the career she had always wanted, she thought her life was over. She did the only thing she could handle at the moment; she fled to San Valdez just north of Tijuana where she found a job in a nightclub. That was where Luke Russell got his first glimpse of Ellie. He couldn't believe she had sunk so low to work in a place like this. No wonder his best friend had been so worried about his sister. She hadn't been the same since her accident, and he was asked to bring her home to San Francisco. He knew that she was off limits to him, but he couldn't help but be moved by the scantily clad sight of her. Luke just tried to get his body under control before letting her in on his presence. Ellie couldn't believe her eyes when she set eyes on Luke. No one had to tell her why he was there. She knew he was there to bring her back home. She tried to think of a way to get Luke to back off, but could only come up with one scenario that would make him run. Even though she had sported a major crush on him since childhood, she would have to attempt a seduction. That was the only thing she could do that would frighten him enough to leave her alone. The game plan was set in motion, and while the chemistry was undeniable, both were afraid they would be the one to end up burned. Very emotional read. Ellie lived through more trauma than any one person should have to handle. In the blink of an eye she lost the career she had trained her entire life for. She didn't know anything else, and couldn't imagine not dancing. Luke distanced himself from almost everyone in his life. He learned early on what happened to those that loved too deeply. Well-developed characters in a well-written story.
