Ah how high the stakes can go.

I just discovered Dance in the Vampire Bund about a week ago (yea yea so I'm off my A game with finding great mangas) anyway this series is very good. It is a refreshing break from the usual vampire books/mangas and gives an interesting twist to the Tepes line. The story so far is that Mina is stuck in a child's body though she is a vampire princess and though we do not know her age, she is older then her guardian/loyal dog/companion Akira who is 18. Her mother died tragically and she is alone except for a were wolf that vowed he would always be by her side. Mina decides she is going to pay off Japan's debt, and bribe (threaten) the government to give her the small island off of the Bay. This is where she is going to build her kingdom, her Bund, her new home. Unfortunately as with all kingdoms there is intrigue, assassination and murder. The spice of life. This volume was harder to read than the others. Akira is being beaten to an inch of his life, Mina is subjected to a shameful examination, and her 'suiters' are becoming impatient for Mini's body to grow up and bear a child. While Akira is playing the physical game and trying to keep himself alive, Mini is on a more difficult, and I would say more deadly battlefield, the political one. The chess pieces are moving and everything's coming together... but at what cost? Great manga, but I wouldn't recommend for anyone under high school age. Mini has this thing for wearing little clothes, or no clothes at all. There are also some precarious situations. Enjoy!
