Based on the 60s TV Show

I never saw the TV show, but was familiar with the premise of the jungle vet & his daughter's pets, including Judy the chimp, Clarence the cross-eyed lion, a parrot & a mongoose. The characters seemed true to the show & the plot was believable. Animal lovers especially would enjoy this book; maybe those who've read James Herriot?
