As the Bereans searched the Scriptures daily because of their eagerness to ascertain the truth, and as Timothy gave attendance and heed to doctrine because of is responsible position in the Lord's service, so too should believers today have this same exercise regarding the Scriptures ad the doctrines contained therein.. This is not only the responsibility of teachers in local churches, but also of all individual believers in their homes. Ever day all believers need good spiritual meals, perhaps by careful personal study of complete Bible books spread over several weeks or months, and also by a daily consideration of a variety of Bible paragraphs and chapters. The present book is offered to Christian readers with this latter object in view. For each day of the year, a Bible passage is given, and a page of detailed comments then amplifies or explains certain aspects of the passage. At the end of a year, readers' hearts should be filled with spiritual material of a helpful nature for life and service, embracing evangelistic, ministerial and prophetic themes, all of which seek to promote the knowledge of the Lord Jesus in the experience of His people.
