FROM BACK COVER

Bringing Up... Daddy? Fatherhood wasn't on CEO Travis Callahan's life plan, but his baby niece, Libby needs him. He's always understood the word duty, and if his new role requires changing diapers and midnight feedings, so be it! Unfortunately, taking care of a six-month-old isn't as easy as running a corporation, and Travis is soon in over his head. Luckily for him, former flame Kit Wells is more than happy to help. As part owner of the daycares she ran with Travis's sister, Kit can teach him all about diaper duty. But can she teach him what it feels like to be part of a family? And will Kit be the one who makes it whole?

Very heartwarming story!

When her best friend and her husband ended up the victims of a drunken driver on a rare night out, Kit Wells decided she had to tell Marlene's brother, Travis, in person. Of course, the fact the two of them were an item back when they were teens and Travis ended things on a sour note will only complicate things. So off to Chicago Kit goes and waits for Travis in his posh office. It takes a bit of convincing, but eventually, he believe his sister is gone. With Marlene's last words, she made Kit promise to take care of her infant daughter along with her brother. She also wanted Kit to show Travis there was more to life than simply working. So Travis and Kit head back to the small town where Kit lives. Since Libby, the infant daughter, has been in the care of her paternal grandmother, that's where the two of them head. Naturally, Beulah has decided she's not about to lose her only grandchild, so she's contesting her son's will. And that's not all the bad news. Since Marlene's death, Kit has been short of help in her daycare centers and volunteers Travis to step in and work in the center close to Marlene's home. Who will win custody of Libby? Will it be Travis, or Beulah? How will Travis manage working in the daycare centers? And most importantly, what of the relationship between Travis and Kit? Will they pick up where they left off, or will Kit marry the local boy she's engaged to? DADDY DAYCARE is a heartwarming story of second chances. Laura Marie Altom has once again woven her magic with this heartwarming story of love lost and found. In this story, we have two people who shared a summer romance coming together after the death of a loved one. We have Kit, destroyed when Travis left her the first time and determined to settle for a local man who will stick around. On the other hand, we have Travis, taught from a young age he must take over the family business and when he finally did have a girlfriend, he caught her in bed with another man. Neither one of these two have the desire to try again, but they can't deny the attraction between them. This is one story you don't want to miss.

interesting family drama

Kit Wells travels from IdaBelle Falls to downtown Chicago to inform CEO Travis Callahan that his sister Marlene died in a car accident and that his infant niece Libby needs him. Marlene also told her best friend not to give up on her brother, whom she kissed under the mulberry tree back home. Though in shock, Travis will raise his kin even if he has no idea how to deal with a baby. However, managing a major corporation is a piece of cake when compared to managing a six month old child as Libby makes demands at any hour and the smell could force Bin Laden to surrender. Still he is fortunate as Kit remains in the Windy City to help him adjust though she hopes that adjustment takes a lifetime as she still loves the boy next door who broke her heart once before. This is an interesting family drama in which death and an infant serve as matchmakers. Kit and Travis keep the story line moving forward as both wants to do what is right for his young niece while fearing rejection if they take that first step towards one another. Though Travis adapts too easily from workaholic CEO to loving family man, contemporary readers will enjoy his new role as the head of DADDY DAYCARE. Harriet Klausner
