She placed her hand on the back of his neck and pulled herself to him. She wrapped herself around him. She kissed him. She could not even describe the sensation. Transcendent. Stillness and pressure and rhythm and breathing. Katherine felt like she was floating out of her body. Looking down on the scene from above and thinking they might burst into flame at any moment.
Then the kiss caught fire. Whatever had held them apart, whatever had restrained them before, was now gone. All Katherine could see behind her closed eyes were gold sparks; all she was aware of was Gary's mouth, his strong gentle hands, his smell, his soul. The taste of Gary in her mouth. Her hands pushing aside the fabric of his button down shirt to get at his bare skin underneath.
