El Prado es el museo favorito de Ximena Maier. Lo conoce muy bien, pues lleva m s de veinte a os pase ndose por sus salas. Sus visitas suelen ser cortas. Algunas veces lo cruza de lado a lado, y otras acude en busca de un motivo en particular sombreros, perros, manos, zapatos o los personajes a los que considera m s atractivos, para reunirse con su pintor favorito o para detenerse a contemplar una obra en concreto.

En ocasiones se trata una simple excusa para huir del calor o de la lluvia, o para dejar que pase el tiempo. Pero siempre aprovecha para examinar con atenci n todo lo que sucede a su alrededor, para escuchar las conversaciones y los comentarios de los visitantes y, por supuesto, para dibujar.

The Prado is Ximena Maier's favorite museum. She knows it well, since she has spent over twenty years wandering through its galleries. Her visits are usually short. Sometimes touring the museum from end to end, and sometimes looking for a particular motif: hats, dogs, hands, shoes, or the characters that seem most attractive to her, to be reunited with her favorite painter, or to stop and contemplate one piece in particular.

Occasionally, it is but an excuse to take cover from the heat or the rain, or to let time pass by. But she always takes the opportunity to closely examine everything happening around her: she listens into conversations, comments made by the public. And of course, she draws.

Same as almost everybody else, Ximena doesn't hide her weakness for Vel zquez and Goya, and there are painters she adores and others that--not really sure why--she has come to hate. Some days she draws what she knows, and others she simply explores the galleries until she finds something unexpected.
