The arrival of Lobo, a wandering wolf hunter, brings new passion into the life of widow Rachel Davis, but her feelings are threatened by her fear of the legend of a wolf who walks as a man. Original. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I enjoyed this novel by Victoria Thompson about a young widow, Rachel, her son and father in law. There is a rough wolf in the area and a wolfer, Lobo, is brought in to kill it. The book includes a very interesting story from several different angles drawing parallels with the wolfs longing for a mate and Lobos life and loneliness. A very good flow between the bad and the good and an example of one of Victoria Thompson's great storytelling.
Pretty good

This was the first book I have read by this author, and I will likely read her others. I really liked the characters - Lobo is emotionally scarred and feels unworthy of being loved, but that doesn't keep him from giving love to Rachel and her son. Rachel is a strong woman who knows what she wants from a man and is willing to fight for him. The dialogue is terrific and the loves scenes are tender and steamy. This would have been a 5-star for me but for the over-the-top wolf analogies. Nearly every action the humans take is picked apart in comparison to wolf behavior, and it gets old after a while. Other than that, wonderful book.
