Kajitsu has never known a proper family. Her dad's a deadbeat and her mom changes husbands. Kaijitsu isn't alone in her dysfunction, Taro and Natsu, the stepbrothers she hasn't seen in seven years, are also refugees from negligent parents. Abandoned by everyone but each other, the three make one last attempt at building a family.
15 year old Kajitsu's adopted grandmother has just passed away. Her adopted mother keeps flitted around from man to man, leaving Kajitsu up to her own devices. Suddenly, her adopted step-brothers have shown up at the house, both of whom she has not seen in 7 years. Taro is 20 years old and a truck driver. Natsu is a little younger than Kajitsu. When they were younger she could confide anything to Natsu, her overweight best friend, but since their youth they had had a fight. Kajitsu, jealous of Natsu's newfound happiness when he gets adopted, writes him a nasty letter to which he never replies. Since then she has kept a journal with Natsu's name as the recipient. Natsu has become quite the young man. He has been accepted to K high school, one of Japan's most prestigious high schools. He lived in Canada with his family for a while and lost weight during that time. He also has completely separated his bond from Kajitsu, which makes her feel such a sense of loss when he and Taro decide to live with her. This is a series that sat on my manga shelves at work forever (I do the section there) before I finally decided to check it out. It's deep and heartwarming, and full of beautiful illustrations. But more than that the characters are real and gut wrenching and believable from Kajitsu's distrust of people to Natsu's aloofness. I will read this series and I will handsell the hell out of it. It's so good.
Great start

if you didn't read the summary alrady, this is a family oriantated manga base on romantic love between stepsiblings. The art work is kind of different from other shojo mangas.compare to other shojo such as Hana Kimi or W juliet, the artwork is done in a very clean way. there isn't a lot going on in the back ground, which means that it could be both refreshing and boring. Mizuki sensei did a great job on black and white contrast on the artwork but did not draw a lot of flower which is odd for shojo. the plot is is good. i like the characters. the stroy is narrated in a poetic way by Kajitsu, the female main character. This girl is differnt than your average shojo manga.. because she is moody, unhappy, negative and lonely( in the beginning) while in other manga, the female main character is usually cheerful and innocent. This manga starts off rather depressing( too depressing and not that funny in the beginning so 4 stars for the 1st vol...) .. but it gets better at the end.I h ave already bought all 4 vol out of total 7 vol( i think there is only 7) . the story and the art is getting better and better.. and the story is also getting funnier too... Kajitsu is getting cuter too... So don't misss out on this great story. :D THANK YUO MIZuKI SENSEI AND GO! TEAM FOR BRING US SUCH A GREAT MANGA

Go Go! Comi

I can say that this is one of my favorite manga that I am always looking forward to the next volume. Go! Comi has did a good job in publishing Crossroad and Tenshi Ja Nai. It is a beautiful story about Kajitsu who never had a family and who always had a crush on her stepbrother, Natsu. They have been separated for 7 years and they finally reunited after their grandmother died and left Kajitsu all alone in this world. Now they are all living together: Kajitsu, Natsu, and Taro to be joined later by their mother and their little stepsister. Houseful of teenage siblings with no adults around, make the house rages with hormones especially between Kajitsu and Natsu. I won't say more, so you need to see for yourself and believe me, you won't regret it :D. Love between siblings is not approved by people and cultures but I can say that it makes the story more juicy and exciting. For those of you who watched the anime "Koi Kaze" will know what I mean. It was a love story between a brother and his stepsister and guess what? They ended up having a sexual relationship, which was weird and hard to digest for me but it was an interesting anime. The thing is that we don't know whether something will happen between Kajitsu and Natsu or whether they will end up together, so let's wait and stay tune for the upcoming volumes. Don't you ever miss it. At the end, all I can say is thank you to Mizuki Shioko for such a wonderful book and to Go! Comi for bringing it out for us to read it and enjoy it. Recommended for fans of Koi Kaze.

Basically after Kajitsu grandmother dies she goes to live with her two stepbrothers ages 15 and 22 I think. Her mother has come and gone again-this time leaving a surprise-Kajitsu now has a little sister and she and the stepbrothers are left to care for the little girl. Possible romantic partner-15 year old stepbrother Natsu. The thing getting in the way of the romance-Natsu has changed and their older brother Taro has laid out a "no incest" rule(though they don't share any blood) in the house.
