This work offers a rigorous academic analysis of cross-border cooperation in Europe from the perspective of the Upper Rhine region (France-Germany-Switzerland). Organized into five parts and thirteen chapters, it draws on the theoretical frameworks of multi-level governance, Europeanization, and the sociology of public policy instruments. It examines the financial instruments-in particular Interreg VI ( 8.05 billion ERDF) and the Small Projects Fund-and presents three empirical case studies. Finally, the work formulates four recommendations for strengthening the effectiveness, democratic legitimacy, and territorial impact of European cross-border cooperation.
