I was lucky enough to recently meet both Ms. Bowman and Mr. Tanis at an author's/illustrators seminar. It was probably some of the best insight ive recieved about this industry. Thru the large amount of works Ms. Bowman has produced, quality has not waivered in the slightest. It is apparant that Ms. Bowman is at the top of her game, and has that spark that keeps her in tune with the hearts and minds of children.Mr. tanis is an amazing artist, who's level of artistry is paralleled only by the versatility of his hand. Every book he illustrtes is set apart by the next, yet each one has that unique flair that is his own.And to play devil's advocate, the only downward connotation i see in this book is the unintentional yet unavoidable truth that it borderlines the resemblance to a Shel Silverstein book - in verse, style, and quaintness. But one may argue that is hardly something to be ashamed of.This is a book that belong's on your child's shelf, for it has the potential to be a cherished bedtime book that your son or daughter will remember into their own adulthood.
