INSPIRATIONAL AND PROVOCATIVE

I read Courage of Fear very quickly during my recent vacation, and as I turned to the final page, I had such mixed emotions that I thought about the characters, the events in the story, and wondered about "what might have been" for days afterward. And then I puzzled over the meaning in the events. The author takes us between the past and the present with style and grace, gradually revealing the love story even as the relationship unfolds to its very sad conclusion. Later, however, I found that the ending could be perceived in many different ways. A true measure of a book lies in its ability to capture the reader, hold his/her attention, and lead to great depths of thought afterwards. This story succeeded on all counts. Laurel-Rain Snow

Suspense and emotional ups and downs

Barbara Boyer presents her debut novel. She lives in San Diego. The story is about Angela, a well-off wife who suddenly finds herself in a hazardous situation, due to her husband. Angela, a real down-to-earth heroine, retrieves to her home island where she learns to live again. This is a wonderful story full of suspense and emotional ups and downs, strong characters, vivid dialogue, romance and an exciting plot that motivates readers to turn the pages to the very end. There is also tight plot and an unexpected ending; all the qualities a successful story should have. It caters to romance and adventure lovers and to women all over the world. A riveting novel of readjusting to one's home town

The American Dream can turn into a nightmare really quick. "Courage of Fear" follows Angela Hearly-Peterson as she falls into a downward spiral not of her own doing. Her husband is dealing with crippling gambling debts when she returns home after a long absence. Nantucket takes her back, but not everything is as simple as it seems for Angela. A riveting novel of readjusting to one's home town, "Courage of Fear" is highly recommended reading.

Loved the characters. Great story!

I loved this book and couldn't put it down. I miss the characters! Great story of strength and how all things happen as they should for a greater purpose.
