This story line has it all!

In just 13 short pages, E. L. Burton has me completely enthralled in this wicked world he created. His descriptive writing style has me feeling that I truly know the few characters mentioned so far. I am left desperately wanting to know what lies ahead for each of them, and can hardly wait for the introduction of, what are sure to be more fascinating and intriguing characters. What makes this work so appealing to me is its relevance to the issues we face in this country today. It seems not a day passes that something about gun control, pharmaceutical companies, and government conspiracy theories is mentioned in the news media. Whatever side of the politcial spectrum you lean toward, the right or the left, this book promises to have something for you. In addition to being very entertaining and extremely difficult to put down, this work should inspire some lively debate.

Spellbinding...

You can always tell when a new book is going to entertain as well as capture your thought -- within a few lines you are drawn into it's world. "Conspiracy of Fear" does exactly that. In a just a few pages you are introduced to four characters, yet you now know enough about each to be caught by the need to learn more, and to follow the intrigue that is so cleverly developed.

Captivating

I was completely enthralled by even these few pages of the book! I found not only the storyline to be captivating but also the writing to be superb. I was on the edge of my seat from the first paragraph. This book is sure to satisfy anyone's hunger for mystery and suspense.

A Well Played Out Theme ....

In the sixties, many college students, hippies, even business professionals protested across multiple venues including the Vietnam war, inequality, "the suits" and blatant capitalism. Four to five decades later, many of the protestors have become the 'suits', science has progressed for ethical purposes, that can also - as anything - be used unethically, the graying of a large part of the population is becoming increasing evident, capitalism is strong and organizations continue to gain power. The author introduces the reader to a rapid succession of short story bites in which there is a realization that externally induced mental depression, violence, suicide and mass murder is not as random as originally thought....The author introduces one of the characters in a clear, non-demeaning manner with minimal emotion.... "He had seen too much during his life-long employment with the company. Over the years it had eaten away at his moral and ethical makeup....." The author takes the reader into the dark side of corporations, pharmaceutical firms and human nature. Truth, Fiction. Perhaps both....

Left Wanting So Much More

E. L. Burton captivated me with the first sentence of Chapter 1. Immediately I asked why, what, and where? I did not know where this story was going, but I desperately wanted to. This thrilling piece read in what seemed like seconds, and left me racked with disappointment that it was so few pages. Burton has a wonderfully descriptive writing style that made me feel like I was actually in Doctor Stone's office, not to mention his examination room. I could smell the combination of death and formaldahyde in the room. Dr. Stone's inquisitiveness and frustration were clear and palpable. I nearly screamed a warning to Sheldon Smith before his brutal death. I eagerly await the release of E. L. Burton's Conspiracy of Fear. What will become of Dr. Stone and the rest of the cast of characters that undoubtedly await us? Based on what I have read so far, it will be horrifying, violent, and thought provoking. One can only hope there is something very special in store for that leftist, Pierce Thornhill. I cannot wait to read what the mind of E. L. Burton has created in this book.
