I’ve used this reference book for years taken it to horse auctions, and clinics. I buy this book and gift it to friends young and old. This is an easy to reference with chapters specific to; head and neck, body (withers, back, loin, and croup), front legs, hindquarters, feet, balance, and a chapter on movement definitions.
Each body area has pictures and arrows pointing to the area of discussion. Along with a detailed discussion of issue, if it’s a common problem, breed impacted, performance consequences, management strategies and best job for the horse. For example; the page on “long or weak loins” description is the joining of the lumbrosacral L-S joint and where it should join, then goes on how to train the horse to help. The pictures are 1997 technology. If you are wondering why your horse has problems and is sore this is a great book to help you and your horse. This book should be required in every horse owner/ college student equine library.
