Detailed in easy to read format, this is a good primer for all ages. Woodford outlines the world's information environment from the Gutenberg Bible to the printed page and analog to digital signal. To the average reader, this is a basic primer in the emergent computer technology of online communication and how it advances through various patent experiments. Illustrations are very helpful to the non-technology buff. A Timeline and index includes names of those responsible for moving communication and computer technology to its current status.
