Comics, graphic novels and webtoons are exploding in popularity across the world, with extraordinary artistic achievements emerging from the Global South and Majority World(s). Because most of the critical and methodological tools in English-language comics scholarship come from the Global North, such approaches are often imperfectly designed to illuminate Global South/Global Majority specificities, innovations, and resultant achievements.
