Main character: Tyler jones finds the body of Mr.Blake Other characters: Mary: One of Tylers Closest friends Rachel: Invites everyone out to her cabin Julie: Has the gun in her purse that goes missing Grace: Had Mr.Blake as a client Teddie: One of Rachels friends Theme:Don't trust everyone This book would be a good book for some one who like mysteries. Genre: Mystery Beginning:In the beginning Tyler gets a invitation from rachel.she wants he and a couple of her college friends to come up to an island in san juan that Rachels grandfather had bought. Back in college Tyler and her friends always talked about goin to the island just her,Rachel, Julie, Grace, Teddie, and Mary. Middle:When Tyler was on her way to the island she had to pick Mary up at a seatle airport. By the time Tyler and Mary had arrived at the dock to go to the island the saw Teddie and Julie waiting for Rachel to come and get them in her boat so they could go to the island. Once they got to the island they went to Rachels cabin and started to catch up on each others lives. Then Tyler decided to go for a walk in the morning it was still windy out but not raining any more. Tyler saw some pathes that led in to the woods and decided to take aggie her dog for a walk. Then her dog Aggie started to bark and ran off into the woods and Tyler Ran after her and she slid down a hill after her dog and then aggie started to bark agian and then Tyler saw a man on the ground and knew he wouldn't get up because he had a hole in his chest. But then she thought what if one of the others did it. Then Tyler ran back to the cabin and told everyone and they all went back and checked out the body. The man was one of Grace's clients. They all started to acuse julie of shotting the man because she said she had a gun in her purse. If the book sounds good go and read it to find out the ending. I thought it was good because it had a mystery to it.

Closed in Silence Shouts Its Feminist Perspective - Hooray!

When Tyler Jones receives an invitation to spend the weekend getting reacquainted with her five college buddies, she accepts immediately. Their rendezvous will be on an isolated island in Puget Sound owned by the family of one of her friends. As they arrive to be shuttled out to the island, a fierce storm breaks over their heads. By the time they reach the island, it is raging. It doesn't take long for the storm to cut off telephone communication with the mainland. When Tyler is walking her dog, she discovers a body that at least two of her friends know and dislike. Suspicion threatens to turn friends into enemies as the weekend progresses. Almost as disconcerting is that Tyler learns that she really doesn't even know the women she's spending the weekend with. As each new revelation reveals someone new her, Tyler works on solving the murder and keeping them all alive. The author is an award-winning author, and she proves why here. This is a book you'll want to savor on a rainy night in front of fire. Each character is finely drawn, with each having likable - and unlikable - characteristics. You're sure to find yourself hoping it wasn't Teddie, or it just couldn't be Grace, or please don't let it be Rachel. By the time you finish this book, you'll find your self searching for Joan Drury's other books.

An unsolved murder is the climax in "Closed in Silence"

Tyler Jones has had her fond memories with her close friends at the University of Michigan. Along with Mary Sharon, Rachel, Teddie, Grace, and Julie whom she had been intimately involved with, she cannot seem to forget the past. She decides to reunite with them at the Lopez Island where Rachel owns a cabin. They are suddenly stuck there by the unpleasant storm and to make it worst Tyler spots a dead body. The dead body is a man named Blake whom is a client of Grace. This dead body brings out mistrust and suspicion among the six friends. Tyler still suspects Grace and maybe Rachel as her accomplice of getting away with murder. The truth never unfolds and results in a unsolved murder that remains mysterioius.

A very good read!

Writer Tyler Jones is looking forward to spending time with her five college buddies at a twentieth anniversary reunion in the middle of Puget Sound. However, just after arriving at the deserted island, a severe storm traps the six women with no immediate escape. Tyler soon locates a male corpse of someone she does not recognize, but her friends do.Anyone of them could be a murderess and each suspect the others. The women begin to share their pasts and their secrets as they open up to one another and begin to trust each other. The third Tyler Jones novel is a strange tale that will either be recognized by readers as stretching the envelope or being a major failure. The six characters are all interesting with each openly discussing their sexual preference among other things. Their interrelationships are very interesting. However, many fans will be frustrated because the story never reaches a definitive conclusion. Harriet Klausner
