Chen Yi is a renowned TCM practitioner in Shanghai and a mentor in the Fifth Batch of the National Academic Experience Inheritance Program for Distinguished TCM Experts. Drawing on a large number of TCM literature consulted since the 1980s, combined with his own over 50 years of clinical medication experience, the author systematically studied 334 medicinal substances using a comparative approach from four perspectives: same name but different origins/sources, same substance but different harvested parts, same herb but different processing methods, and same treatment principle but different therapeutic effects.
