Best book on the Market

I have REA's CLEP College Mathemmatics, the Barron's CLEP 10th Edition Guide as well as the Princeton Review's 4th Edition Cracking the CLEP and have to say if there is only one book to own it is this one; the REA book. It seems to be the most thorough out of all three I listed. Second I would go with the Princeton Review but only because of the explanations that it provides are really good but it is vague in covering all the topics that you do actually need to practice for this CLEP exam. The Barron's book is great to have more questions to practice on. But overall the REA had the most detailed information in the book but it happens to be one of the most expensive. Here is the deal: You don't need the CD's since all the questions are included in the book that are on the CD, however if you are going to buy a book that is used you may want to have the CD so you can ensure that when you take the practice exams you aren't looking at a page that someone made a mark in the book as to what the correct answer is. Or it kind of defeats the purpose. My recommendation if you are preparing for this exam: I am not the best at math under pressure, meaning when you are being timed and only have 90 minutes to answer 60 questions. Plus, my last math class was 20 years ago in high school! Some questions are easy but most take more than a minute and a half and that is all you get technically if you (pun intended) do the math. I would buy all three books just so you have a bunch of practice questions and the other books used are really cheap...like under a dollar or two! REA is the book to buy if you want to pass...I did just yesterday as a matter of fact and I couldn't be happier.

Excellent guide to CELPing College Math

Actually purchased this book for my daughter as she wants to shorten her school time to become a Dental Hygienist in three years instead of four. This book helped her prepare for the Math CLEP test. I would highly recommend it to any student interested in this type of program. I only wish I had known about the CLEP test when I went to college.

Extremely Helpful

Received this book and studied it cover to cover for one week. Took the exam and passed without a problem. This book covered every topic encountered on the actual exam. I had not taken a math class in over 15 years. Now, I was good at math when I was in school...but knew I needed some serious refreshing before taking this test. This book did it for me! The CD is like the real exam and gives excellent practice for the big test. I recommend this book with hesitation.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND REA FOR CLEPS! I received almost a perfect score using just this book! And I only studied for two weeks! I plan on using REA for biology next month.

From 0 to 60 in four weeks!

This CLEP College Algebra prep book was amazing!! I failed the first practice test I took (as a diagnostic) and things were looking pretty bleak, but after I spent four weeks with this book (you could definitely condense the study time, I just chose four weeks), I was able to pass the College Algebra CLEP!!! I was totally surprised and didn't think it was possible...I've always been terrible at math. Thank you so much, REA!!!
