It is only two days before Christmas when five people are stranded in a snowstorm on a back road in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State. A car accident brought together a young widow, her six-year-old daughter and a thirty-something woman. With no cell service, their only hope to find help is to head out on foot. Along the way, they come upon two arguing men with their car in a ditch. The men follow the ladies thinking they will lead them to a phone before they freeze to death. Cold, wet, and tired, the group discovers a lodge--only to find it is closed for the Christmas holiday. Fortunately, the owner takes pity on them. In reality, her motive has nothing to do with compassion. The strangers unknowingly walk through the door of Bear Foot Lodge and into the most extraordinary Christmas of their lives.
