Best Cognitive Development Book

I have used various versions of this textbook since it first came out. The book has the depth of reasoning and information load needed for a masters or upper undergraduate course in cognitive development. It supplies students with a balanced and unbiased coverage of the research, describing evidence for and against most of the points discussed. My students, mostly educators coming back for masters or Ph.D. degrees and who do not have significant background in cognition or development, find it understandable and pertinent. It is not written for educators exactly, but they are able to get what they need to from it.
