An Inspirational Work of Fiction!

Matt Whittaker was a furniture maker just living a normal life raising his son as a single father in the small town of Rosewood Texas, where everyone knows everyone. Most of the people knew his secret but his son Danny didn't know that he really wasn't Danny's father. Than out of nowhere arriving from LA asking for Kyle, a name his brother John hated and had never used, was his dead half brother's wife. Leah brought with her an unbelievable tale about her and John. Eight years had passed since his brother John had arrived on his doorstep with his infant son, Danny. Soon after arriving John was killed in a car crash leaving young Danny fatherless. But now for eight years Matt had raised Danny as his own knowing when the time was right he must tell Danny the truth. But John had told him that Leah didn't want their son. Had she changed her mind? Despite all he could Matt couldn't keep Leah from worming her way into the boy's life and wanting to tell him the truth. How long could Matt keep Leah from telling Danny and what really was the truth? Had John told him the truth and Leah was the liar or was it the other way around? Hoping eventually to have more answers than questions, all Matt could do was trust God and that Danny wouldn't be hurt in all this. "Child of Mine" takes place in modern day Rosewood, Texas. Being the fourth such book written by Bonnie K. Winn. It truly is a heartwarming tale as an inspirational romance. It is an easy read being great for the twenty something or romance seekers of all ages. As romance novels go the story is very predictable but still enjoyable. You can truly see the underlying faith in God in the lives of the people of this small town. So if you are seeking the inspirational romance that is not your typical boy meets girl story than this is the book to read as in the end the heart of a child is the most important thing.

Surprisingly compelling

I've read other books by this author and I'm pleased to say I enjoyed this one as much as the others. She took a deep subject and addressed it with heart and grace. The story jumps off the page and I stayed up all night to finish it -- which is a keeper in my estimation. I also like books by Jan Karon and I'm struck by the sensitivity and warmth that both authors convey. This is a book that I'll read again and that I'll recommend to my friends.
