all true

It's a rare opportunity when I come across a book that is true for one thing, not fiction. I love the way the story begins with the murder of the author's father. It's amazing how someone could survive throught all the hardships that she went through.

well written

Finally, an all true book based on experiences of growing up in Baltimore. Finally our city gets in props! Big ups to the writer of this book who has the courage to put her life in fine print. A well written book that keeps you turning the pages for more.

loved it

I would recommend this book to anyone who is going through turmoil or trouble in their family. The book is told in true. easy to understand language. I loved it and would recommend it to anyone.

Represents Baltimore

This is a good book to read. I loved it. As a matter of fact, I read the book straight through. The only complaint that I have about the book is that it was too short. But what is packed in the book is a bold move by the author. That truely took courage.

represents Baltimore

those of us from Baltimore can so relate to what the author is saying. I think the book did an excellent job of representing Baltimore to the fullest. Only a bold auther can submit true facts about not only her life and the hardships she had to face growing up in a city as populated as Baltimore, but also with the murder case of ther father's involving her mother and brother. This is truly an inspirational book that will be well read over and over.
