Just in time for the release of the Netflix animated feature film, Chickenhare and the Hamster of Darkness, comes the graphic novel that started it all. What's a chickenhare, you ask? A cross between... This description may be from another edition of this product.
The artwork is beautiful in its simplistic manner and the story is great. The book follows Chickenhare and his friend Abe (the bearded turtle) as they try to escape from the taxedermist. Along they way the meet a unique cast of characters. Grine writes the story almost as a teaser to what the story could be and this book leaves you wanting to understand the characters more. Can't wait for the follow up.

PICK UP THIS BOOK. Its amazing. I bought it the other day at the mo-kan con. That night at the hotel I read it practically cover to cover. Very clean art style and love the humor. And to top that Chris is a really nice guy. My girlfriend and I spent a good bit of time chatting with him and two other really cool indie artists.(Matt Hawkins [...] and Kyle Strahm, [...]) If you like to laugh, look at nice art,and help amazing storytellers break into the biz...buy this book!

Stumbled across this book in Portland, ME and couldn't put it down. Independent books like this usually depend on shock value to sell, but quickly disappoint after the initial novelty wears off. What I liked so much about this one was that while is was undoubtably weird in it's basic premise, the weirdness is tempered by an underlying sweetness that makes you actually care about the characters. Highly recommended. Fun story, sweet characters and beautiful artwork to boot. Here's hopin the next book comes out soon!

I picked up a copy of Chickenhare the other day and couldn't put it down! The plot moves at a fast pace, the dialogue crackles, and the artwork is top notch. It's more off-beat than your standard comic book, is delightfully quirky, and has plenty of surprises. The author does a great job of providing plenty of suspense while not shorting us on the laughs. The only downside is that the prologue from the website is not in the book. I'm hoping it will be included in a sequel or second printing so I can have the Chickenhare saga in its entirety. Can't wait for the next installment!
