Trace wanted to reclaim the property that had been wrongfully taken from his family and he married Rachel in order to do it. I felt like crying along with Rachel when she found out why Trace had married her. I loved watching Trace's feelings for Rachel change and then to finally see his remorse for what he had done to her. This was a truly wonderful romance and I highly recommend it.
