It's taken me a number of years to write my memoir of my lived experience of mental health issues as a health care worker in the NHS which escalated to severe depression, PTSD and anxiety and burn out. The account of this life changing time in my life is honest, descriptive and real. It describes my life as an energetic, empathetic, passionate community midwife leading up to the illness and how work related stress, lack of support and the murder of a young baby I had cared for and how it impacted all areas of my life and put me in danger of losing my fight against my ill health. As mental health issues are increasing across the general population the book is current and will inform readers how mental health issues affects the sufferer, their family and their employment but how despite how severe the issues are that there is hope to work through the illness and to live a life worth living. In writing this book I was in quest of a relatable and informative piece of work which described my personal journey through ill health and recovery. The title being 'CHAOS-through trauma- To the brink and back'
