Carry Your Past: Some Assembly Required
The past is part of your story. It doesn't have to write your future.
Life after everything changes is messy. It's confusing. It's unfair.
Some days, recovery feels like you're making progress. Other days, it feels like you're right back at square one.
But recovery isn't about erasing what happened or pretending the scars aren't there. And it isn't necessarily about getting back to the person you used to be.
Sometimes, you have to build someone new.
Carry Your Past: Some Assembly Required is a raw, honest, and sometimes humorous look at what happens when life forces you to rebuild yourself after everything you thought was permanent suddenly isn't.
Through personal stories, hard-earned lessons, reflection, and a little sarcasm along the way, Corey Furnival explores the grief that comes with change, the loss of identity that nobody warns you about, the relationships that shift, and the strange process of discovering who you are becoming.
This book will help you:
- Understand the emotions that can follow life-altering change
- Recognize the invisible grief that comes with losing pieces of your old life
- Navigate relationships that change, strengthen, break, or disappear
- See yourself differently-not only for what you've lost, but for who you're becoming
- Take small steps toward building a life that works for the person you are today
- Learn to carry your past without allowing it to carry you
This isn't a story about having everything figured out.
It's about getting knocked down, looking at the pieces scattered around you, and realizing that maybe you don't have to put them back exactly where they were.
Some assembly required.
And maybe that's the point.
