A wonderful book for learning carpentry

I picked this book up along many years ago to learn the fundamentals of carpentry for some home repairs. Whether I do them myself or hire a pro I like to know what's going on and understand best practices. This book was outstanding. From the way timber is cut into lumber to how to make precisely angled cut for trestles this book is invaluable to me. You can quite literally buy this book and learn to frame a house, cut stair runners, deck the roof and install hardwood floors. It's an outstanding text.

This book is an incredible source of information and "how to". It has 90 chapters divided into four sections; Tools & Materials; Rough Carpentry; Exterior Finish; Interior Finish. The scope of this book is incredible, and it is very informative and concise (it is a textbook).
