It has been ten years since Captain K'nuckles last saw and heard from his former cabin boy and best friend Flapjack. Now Flapjack is a full grown man, and he has become a sailor. He is currently sailing out in the ocean out on his own boat having his own adventures. Bubbie the whale is deceased, and Captain K'nuckles is all alone. Well, that's the way things are for him at the beginning of his own solo tale.
After Flapjack grew up and left to be out on his own after growing up, Captain K'nuckles was left on the city floating out in the middle of the ocean, and he had completely gave up on venturing over to Candy Island. Yes, it was his goal in life to reach that place, but that dream just became only a dream. Now, of course, Captain K'nuckles spends most of his time at The Candy Barrel, and Peppermint Larry has to watch his candy consumption.
Naturally, Captain K'nuckles abandoned his feelings of love and infatuation for Candy Wife. Knowing that Peppermint Larry and Candy Wife are legally married, so he knows that there is no way he could be romantically involved with her. However, one day, he dines in The Candy Barrel and meets a red headed young lady named Lieutenant Rose. They form this unexpected romantic relationship, and plenty of adventurous twists and turns occur during their little adventurous romance.
