Can't Read, Can't Write, Can't Talk Too Good Either

This book, although written in the early 70's, is a must-read for teachers. It contains important information on dyslexia and language disabilities in general that many future teachers will not be taught in college. Unfortunately, special education for children with "learning differences" has not progressed since the 70's in some areas of the country. As the mother of a 12 year old boy with dyslexia, I related to this book and the author and found myself rejoicing over Mike's(the real-life character written about)victories and weeping at his struggles. The story was inspiring, encouraging, and motivating for me because I am also an education student, and I found many helpful tips in the book about how to spot and help children with language disabilities.
