Forbidden Attraction

Fran Mallory, columnist for Beehive Magazine, took the assignment of interviewing Father Ambrose, the head of the Trappist monastery outside of Salt Lake City as a favor to a colleague. However when she arrived at the monastery, she was met by a handsome, but rude monk who told her Father Ambrose was ill and that she would have to reschedule the appointment. Put off by his rudeness, Fran was glad she wouldn't have to come back. She would just hand the story back to her colleague and that would be it. Andre Benet lost both his parents when he was a child, or so he believed, and he was raised by an aunt. On her deathbed his aunt told him his father was alive and did not know that he'd had a son. Andre's father is Father Ambrose. Ambrose had been in love with Andre's mother, but in the end had chosen the priesthood. Armed with the truth, Andre goes to the monastery to find his father overjoyed to see him, however he is deathly ill with only days left to live. To keep people from asking questions, the monks have asked Andre to dress as they do and you've guessed it, Andre is the monk that had been so rude to Fran. Andre is a seaman who has traveled the world and he wants to keep traveling, but there is just something about that girl from the magazine. For her part, Fran goes back out to the monastery, because there is just something about that monk. I really enjoyed this story. I know the plot sounds kind of hoakie, but it's not, at least not the way Ms. Winters has told the story. Lots of suspense here. Lots of crisp dialogue, too. Great characters as well. You won't go wrong with this one.

Husband Potential by Rebecca Winters (Large Print Harlequin)

Description from the book back cover: Having steered clear of men in the past, Fran Mallory was shocked by the intensity of her attraction to Andre Benet. Intimacy with him was strictly off limits, but perhaps this was half of Andre's charm! Andre Benet wasn't looking for a relationship, so he'd let Fran believe he was unavailable. Now he was unable to resist his desire for her any longer. But would Fran feel quite so safe with him when he revealed he did have husband potential after all ...?

a well written book

i first read this book when i went to my favourite bookshop in town. i found out that this book is the latest book in that shop. without wasting any time, i read the book. although it was kind of slow in the beginning, but it has a good storyline. anders and francesca fell immediately in love at first sight, first at the monastery, then to a choir show, and thus other places. anders is determined to make francesca his wife but francesca is feeling doubtful about her feelings towards anders. the part i like best is when anders is leaving Salt Lake and francesca tried to stopped him. she finally gotten up her nerves and told anders about her feelings. it is such a good book not to be miss.
