A Modern Christian Romance Novella

This books has three parts, hence the name novella. The novellas are short around 110 pages each and the first two deal with the same couple. The third novella is about a different couple that meet up with the first couple. 1 - Callie's Mountain: A young girl from the mountains was raised by her grandmother. Her mom died in childbirth and she was told her father died before that. She works in a restaurant to make money so she can support her grandmother and make repairs on their home. A famous country singer, Morgan Rutherford the Third, or "Trey" to his fans, decides to have her be the recipient of his first scholarship. He is blessed by making a lot of money and decides that he wants to find a way to give it back to others. What he doesn't expect is was he finds in HER and what SHE can offer him. 2 - Callie's Challenge: Morgan accidently gets hurt by a pool filter real badly. His jaws need to be wired shut, his vocal chords need to re-attach, and he will have to have a lot of dental work done. He suffers a lot through this accident, he doesn't understand why God let this happen to him. He feels distant from God, and from Callie who seems to be hiding something from him. Morgan also has insecurities about whether or not he will be able to sing again. On top of all this his manager wants to do a comeback concert after he is healed, but Morgan hates to perform live! 3 - An Ozark Christmas Angel: This story does not have a lot to do with Callie and Morgan, they are only friends of the main characters. Lyndsay Rose is filling in for her friend, the famous Anita Jane, during her Christmas Singing Special in the Ozarks because she believes Anita to have pneumonia. Anita's doctor, Will, picks her up from the airport and brings her to her rehearsals and occupies her time off. He told her that he knows for a fact that Anita Jane is not really sick, and she tricked Lyndsay into coming up. She just didn't want Lyndsay to home for another Christmas morning the loss of her husband from years ago. But what he doesn't know is that Anita Jane has another reason for inviting her pretty friend up and having him bring her around every where. I enjoyed this Christian Novella, it is not a preachy book at all and only have Christian undertones and characters with morals and christian values. I would have liked it more if all three stories were about Callie and Morgan. In addition, the last story was very short (50-ish pages)and didn't have a lot of depth to it. I would have liked to have a deeper or longer story, plus it was a Christmas story. I give this book a 4 out of 5. The first novella is a 5. The second novella a 4. The third novella a 3.
