In this play, as in all her works, Joumana Haddad says frankly what many might be evasive about saying. Here, the author deconstructs the stereotypes that frame women and the prejudices that pursue them, ultimately calling not for overturning the scales or roles between male and female, but for achieving balance in rights and duties between the sexes, through a rights-based, humanist approach. And since frankness requires spontaneity that may reach the point of bluntness, you will find in this book two versions of the play: one in Lebanese colloquial Arabic close to reality, and the other in Modern Standard Arabic.
