Wonderful Book. My little one Loves to hear and look.

This is a fabulous book. I bought it when my daughter was only 4 months old. I have been reading it to her ever since; she is now 19 months. Everytime I say get a book she brings this one. She loves the pictures and the expressions I make when I read it to her. She especially loves the expressions: "Bubbles babies belly" or "Shakes like a bowl of jelly" and then we both shake together. "Honey Color Hands" and then we wiggle our fingers and etc. So in additon to reading you must bring the simple words to life for your child to enjoy it. Its awesome and excellent.

A 10 Star Book!

I bought this book for my then 6 month old niece and my family constantly reminds me how wonderful this book is. It is her absolute favorite! Her grandparents smile each time they tell me that my now 17 month old niece constantly laughs along, kisses the pages and imitates the faces of each photographed baby. My little niece has even attempted to lick the images of the pictured food that accompanies each brown sugar baby photo. Although I don't have kids, I bought a copy for myself. I plan to have just as much fun with my little tyke as my niece now demonstrates. It's a MUST HAVE for any parent--black or white.

Delicious!

Delicious! Brown Sugar Babies is simply delicious. Although geared toward children ages 2 to 5, this book is sure to delight both young and old, bringing smiles to all of their faces. The publisher states that "infants, toddlers and their older siblings will drool as they rejoice in the beauty of brown babies". My ten year old son smiled more broadly, grinned and giggled with the turn of every page. From cover to cover, Smith has managed to photograph and beautifully depict "seven colors of the black rainbow". Rich, brilliant colors offset by stark black backgrounds draw the babies to you. Each infant is draped and correspondingly bordered by striking yellow, purple, burgundy, green, dark blue, orange, and turquoise. Each infant is also linked to sweet, delectable foods such as brown sugar, cinnamon, creamy peanut butter, chocolate, honey, carob and caramel; matching their various complexions. Images of smiling, healthy, happy babies being held, cuddled and kissed by loving parents bring warmth to the heart. The rhythmic, sweet sounding text pulls you closer still, making the reader want to reach out and hold each and every one of the precious babies. An infant will truly relate positively to seeing another infant so vividly portrayed in varying hues. Also, as the publisher points out, "the book fosters creative exploration by introducing the body parts - belly, toes, hands and cheeks." ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!

WOW, there are so many cute babies in this book! I bought it for my 3-year old daughter and she loves looking at all the pictures. I plan on giving this book as a gift to some of my expectant friends as well as others who can appreciate the beauty of children of all differnet shades.Great book Mr. Smith! Keep up the good work.
