The last place Sarah Landry wants to go is back home to South Dakota. Her mother's unexpected death forces her to return to her hometown where she comes face to face with Sophia, her ex-friend.

While processing the fractured relationship she had with her mother and Sophia, Sarah struggles with her grief. Sarah feels deceived by her family and watched by a stranger. She reconnects with her old crush Mark and the two fall in love.
