From the author: Broken Son is about my life, living with my dad's struggle with drug and alcohol abuse, an adulterous affair, and subsequent divorce from my mom. I saw firsthand the debilitating effects my father's addiction had on my life and those of my wife and children. In later years, God brought great restoration to my relationship with my dad. He eventually got the help he needed, and before he passed in 2018, we grew very close. This book is a testimony to our awesome God who enabled this restoration and my earthly father who became my hero because he overcame many, many odds.

Dennis Crawford was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, attended Detroit Public Schools, and graduated from Oakland University in 1998. Dennis has made it his purpose to lead a life that glorifies God and let others know about the freedom of Christ's grace. Dennis lives in Alabama with his best friend and beautiful wife of 21 years, Lonnica, along with their three awesome children.
