Brier House

By: Ashworth, Maggie

They say your life is supposed to flash before you at this moment. The moment of your death. But all I knew was the smell of rot and the taste of tears.

After her grandmother's death, thirty-two year old Florence Birmingham unexpectedly discovers that she is the sole inheritor of her family's generational manor, Brier House, and its surrounding grounds. Along with her twin brother, Rory, Florence makes the journey back to Colchester, England to fulfill her inheritance and restore the house to its former glory. However, the house isn't the place Florence and Rory remember from their childhoods. As time goes on, Florence begins to discover that the house holds many dark secrets: old diaries, a childhood friend who just isn't the same, and dreams so vivid that Florence can't remember if she was actually asleep or not. As the house's secrets start to circle in, Florence must face only the darkest of forces- some more familiar than others.
