Book Overview

No one will be fooled by this little piece of ephemera. This is not anything like a new Bridget Jones book. It's a revisiting of old jokes, old characters, old stories. That said, there's something... This description may be from another edition of this product.

Cute and amusing

The book is a half an hour read that is pure indulgence if you like Briget Jones - anything.

For a good cause

Not the funniest of Helen Fielding's works, but buying it gives money to feed starving people. Who can say no to that? Save lives, be amused, and you don't even have to leave your chair.

Quiet and powerful

This movie is so unlike most movies being made today--no flashy action sequences, no pithy one-liners. Just a quiet, moving film about real people and real life. Man in the Moon features some of the most realistic relationships depicted on screen. Dani's relationships with her father, sister, and first love Court are all so well-developed and complex. We see how they love each other, and hurt each other, and help each other. All the acting is superb, but Reese Witherspoon is a revelation. As Dani, we see the exhilaration of first love, the sadness of betrayal, and the gift of healing. There is not a false note in this movie.

The profits went to charity.....

In her review Stacey Mchugh said she was disappointed with this book and thought helen fielding was cashing in on the phenonema. In all fairness this book was released to coincide with Comic Relief which is a charity event which is very popular and well supported here in britain. J.k rowling also released two small books for this cause. You can hardly expect another whole novel can you? These are meant as a fun way to help contribute to a charity which helps people affected by poverty in the UK and africa.

The single life according to Bridget!

This little booklet was so much fun to read! It is filled with Fielding's ironic humor and signature style. Bridget has created her own little self-help book. Here, you will learn how to cook, eat, weigh yourself and even how to be your friends' therapist. It is all done with an ironic twist!Every Helen Fielding fan should get a copy of this book. Granted, I feel it should have been longer -- but Fielding's humor is well worth it. Get it!
