Dutt Bharti, a renowned Urdu poet, belongs to a generation of Punjabi Hindus who grew up in the cradle of Urdu culture. His writings were so mature and influential that half a dozen of his short stories were published in major magazines of his time and in a very short time he became a very well-known short story writer.
