Getting Beyond the Surface of Dream Interpretation

If you are interested in mining meaning from the deepest veins of your dreams, then Box of Dreams is a powerful prospecting tool. It goes beyond the standard symbol guide by challenging you to consider your dream images and story from archetypal, psychological, shamanic and other perspectives. The artwork of the dream cards is evocative and talismanic, and the cards themselves help you make quick assessments about your dream that you can then delve into using the information and questions in the book. What I like most about Box of Dreams is that it helps you be interpretative without sacrificing respect for the power and mystery of the dreaming self.

Great Tools for Dream Interpretation

The subtitle of this book says it all: "Tools for Interpretation." What I really like about this book and card set is that it gives me the tools to think about my dreams. It's like teaching someone how to fish rather than giving them a fish. Too many other books on dreaming provide shallow interpretations that remind me of bad horoscopes. This approach has much more integrity. The dream symbol cards are excellent. The authors draw on all sorts of interesting sources to put together a very thorough overview of the dream subject's symbolism. The "In Your Dreams" section on the cards includes helpful questions that get you thinking deeply about what the symbol might mean within the very personal context of your dream. And the artwork on the cards is hauntingly beautiful. The book is also very helpful. I especially liked the chapter on symbols and archetypes, and the instructions for using the cards are very clear and helpful. All in all, an excellent book and card set and a must-have for anyone interested in exploring their dreams.
