Emphasis is placed on the development of high-yield, convenient synthetic routes. Metallaborane systems which appear not to obey the common rules and structure patterns in boron cluster theory are elucidated, and the different numeration systems for boron clusters are standardized at the IUPAC level. Structures of unknown clusters are predicted.
