One shy bunny . . .

This is a charming story of two bunnies in costume on Halloween night. Told in simple, elegant prose, we accompany them as they get the hang of trick-or-treating. With sparse but beautiful text, "Jump. Bump! 'Eeeek!' 'Squeak!'", and the gorgeous, saturated illustrations of Jeff Mack, we feel the excitement and anticipation of the evening. This story, these characters are engaging from the start. And they remain so through my many re-readings. Never too scary, this is a terrific Halloween story for the young. And old.

One of the best, a definate yes for the home library

We first check books like this out from the library, any favorites get purchased in hardback for the home collection. This book is awesome! It has vibrant illustrations but a simple text that will keep kids entertained. My toddler is wanting to read this over and over. It is actually the best Halloween book to represent a kid's view of the Trick-Or-Treat experience I've seen, and believe me, we've read a LOT of Halloween books. :)

It's enough to scare the ears off a little bunny. That is, until he finds a friend. There's nothing like holding your best friend's paw to ward off the jitters. Boo, Bunny! is the perfect book for youngsters about to go out on their first Halloween adventure. Short, snappy rhyme paired with beautiful, playful, and suspenseful illustrations will enthrall young bunnies, ghosts, and superheroes alike!

A Wonderful, Non-Scary Halloween Book for Your Youngest Readers

With most young children, Halloween can be a fun but scary holiday. Finding good books to read to them can be challenging at times, as many illustrations found in Halloween books today can frighten the youngest readers. "Boo Bunny!" was a great find. The illustrations are fun, not scary, and this little bunny is so darn cute! Young readers can perhaps identify with Boo Bunny, who looks forward to trick-or-treating with anticipation along with some apprehension, as well. I know that both of my children have gone through this stage, getting caught up with all the excitement one moment and being scared out of their wits the next. They were often too frightened by illustrations to enjoy their Halloween books. This won't happen with "Boo Bunny!", I can assure you. The story is fun and this is timid little bunny makes a new friend along the way. Together they gather courage from each other's company and have a wonderful Halloween night. The words are simple and spare, but perfect for a young child. Adults reading this book to them will enjoy it, too. My only complaint is that my daughter is now begging for a Boo Bunny stuffed animal (he's adorable, I have to admit!). I hope the publisher comes out with one someday soon!
