A keeper

So, this book wasn’t too bad, I enjoyed the plot and the twists and turns of their situation/background story, even the steamy parts. Haha. Once again, the heroine is a virgin with attitude, but she has a good reason to be a puta. In the end, it’s a good story. Realistically would it happen? Absolutely NOT. But it’s a good book (quick read, too) to get lost into. Definitely recommend.

This book is TRULY a keeper!

Hot dang, that's what I can say about this book. Quick synopsis is heroine's sister was pregnant by hero's younger brother and she dies in childbirth. Heroine is extremely mad at the hero and his brother for treating her sister like dirt, refusing to believe that she was pregnant and believes that they caused her sister's death. Hero is a handsome rich Greek who is very into his culture and traditions and wants to take away his nephew and raise him the way he is supposed to be raised. Of course our feisty heroine will not agree to that. Super duper duper sparks fly between them and she throw out snidely that the only way he can have his nephew is by marrying her. (cause the hero keeps insulting her about a lot of things, her face, her age, her looks) To her shock, he agrees. But you know our hero isn't happy about that and won't go down fighting! He does do something not nice but at least he didn't - secret! Find out in the book =P From the start of the book, BOOM! I felt the emotions from the characters just tumbling off the page! Heroine is supposed to be dowdy and plain which our evil hero (don't worry, you'll grow to love him!) has no qualms in telling and insulting her! But of course she transforms and in a realistic way. You can even see the hero's reaction to this and it is just hilarious because she has no idea. Thankfully our heroine, despite her insecurities, isn't one to just take accept all his insults. She definitely fights back. This book is TRULY a keeper. I was riveted from start to finish. After I read it, I kept re-reading it, especially all the hot juicy interactions. That one scene when the heroine visits the hero in his office - mwahahahaha!!!! That is soooo funny and hot! I'm at work right now and it makes me want to read the book over again haha! 5 stars!!!

Didn't expect Harlequin to be funny

Well, this was my first Lynne Graham and, boy, was it love at first sight. When I got it, I've read it 5 times in as many days and it will stay forever on my keepers' shelf. There's low self-confidence, low-income, stubborn and mouthy Sarah, who kicks and screams at gorgeous, self-assured, rich, responsible, short-tempered, equally stubborn Alex. They meet and marry under tragic circumstances, and it would be so easy to make this a mopey story. But Sarah and Alex's fighting made me laugh my heart out after the first few chapters. She's hilariously clueless when it comes to reading Alex's feelings, or realizing how smart and attractive she really is -- and there's touches in this book of Bridget Jones, Pride and Prejudice, and Jane Eyre (I kid you not). Spirited, unpredictable writing, memorable dialogue, lots of humor, what more could one want? The heroine has a backbone, and the hero may be self-assured, but he's not a jerk. They're both endearingly-flawed and human, and sparkles fly off the page. Unlike in most Harlequin [...], you can actually tell when these two fall in love and why, and you almost cheer for them as they do. As far as Harlequins go, this book simply stands in a class of its own. Brilliant. Edit 02/08: Ha! Finally figured out why the US back cover blurb never made any sense. Turns out, the US edition skipped one essential line and two words from the UK edition back cover. UK reads: *"I will pay the price. I will marry you."* Alex Terzakis's *words* took Sarah's breath away -- marriage was the last thing on her mind! She'd wanted two things when she'd impulsively flung her proposal at him: revenge for her young sister's death and the chance to raise her sister's baby son. True, Alex would fight tooth and nail to keep his nephew but, in her anger and grief, Sarah had believed her demand would send him packing -- she'd never expected him to accept!"

I love it!

This book is absolutely brilliant. Let's say that from all the books I've ever read, I'll always love Bond of Hatred best. It shows such potential, imagination and a sense of real life.Sarah Hartwell has just lost her sister Carrie, after she gave birth to a baby boy. The father's brother Alex Terzakis demands to have custody of the baby, Nikos. But Sarah loves Nicky and refuses to let him go. So they argue, compromise and argue some more. The decision is made when Sarah, in a burst of desperation, propses to Alex thinking that he would leave her alone after that outrageous proposition. But he doesn't! He agrees to marry her!So they get married and Sarah is of the opinion that this marriage is strictly in name only but Alex has different ideas and shows them to her on their wedding night..... Well, anyway they both fall in love but refuse to admit it. Sarah starts talking about divorce and seperation and Sarah thinks that Alex is having an affair. That's what brings them together at the end. I really really admire Lynne Graham's work. She truly captures the emotion in words and basically paints a picture that's very vived. I recommend this book to any proper romance fan. I certainly loved it and I'm a hundred percent sure that nobody would ever be disappointed by it.

FANTASTIC book!

I read this book a few years ago and I can still remember it very well because I have thumbed through it so often after reading it. This book is very high on my KEEPER list. Here's a brief synopsis: Alex Terzakis took Sarah's breath away. Marrying him was the last thing she was thinking of! When she'd impulsively flung that proposal at him, she had two things on her mind: revenge for her young sister's death, and the chance to raise Nikos, her sister's baby son. True, family was all to Alex, and he would fight to keep Nikos, who was his nephew. But, in her anger and her grief, Sarah had believed that her demand would send him packing -- she had never expected that he would accept! The hero is to die for! He is one gorgeous billionaire! He enters the marriage thinking that he would make it a marriage at his convenience but he soon finds that the heroine would not take it lying down. Though the story is told exclusively from the heroine's point of view, you can tell that the hero is falling for her and falling hard by what he says and does even though he does not tell her he loves her until the end of the book. I have read some Anne Mather and Penny Jordan book where you can't tell that the heroes are falling for the heroines because they don't show it through there actions other than tell the heroines at the end of the book. With Lynne Graham, you alway know that the heroes are falling for the heroines or are in love with them even though they try to resist it or even deny it. This book has everything -- incredible chemistry between hero and heroine, memorable hero and heroine, great dialogue, beautiful setting (chateau in the Loire Valley), the right amount of humor, and excellent story. Overall it was one well-written book. Read it for yourself and see.

Well worth a read

Although the first few pages are quite slow, the book is fantastic - a very enjoyable read. Lynne Graham is a brilliant writer displaying her talent in this story. The tension is high almost from the start till the very end and takes a few tears along the way.
