Jair Bolsonaro was born on March 21, 1955, in Campinas, S?o Paulo. Son of Perci Geraldo Bolsonaro and Olinda Bonturi, he is the third of five siblings. His father, Perci, was a dentist and was also a politician, having been a councilor in Campinas for the Christian Democratic Party (PDC).
Bolsonaro graduated from the Preparatory School of Army Cadets in 1977 and then joined the Academia Militar das Agulhas Negras, where he graduated as a second lieutenant in 1980. He served in the Brazilian Army for 17 years, having been promoted to captain in 1988.
In 1988, Bolsonaro was elected councilor of Rio de Janeiro by the Christian Democratic Party (PDC), being re-elected in 1992. In 1990, he ran for federal deputy for the same party, being elected with more than 42 thousand votes. He was re-elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 1994, 1998, 2002 and 2006.
Bolsonaro has shown the world that he is a born leader, a statesman, respected and admired nationally and worldwide. There has never been a politician so loved and idolized in Brazil, he is an example of life, of overcoming, dedication, love, respect for the homeland and the Brazilian people.
