Private investigators Mas Hammett and Sophie Chandler, business partners as well as kink partners, deepen their relationship as they work a case brought to them by a friend. Bodies start turning up in Golden Gate Park, executed in the manner of martyred saints, and the only connection between the victims is membership in the Kink community. Lieutenant Otake asks Mas and Sophie for help investigating the Kink community connections. The deeper they investigate, the more Mas thinks it's about religion, not kink. Disagreements on motive send the police on a kink-focused path while Mas and Sophie follow the religious side. On their own, Mas and Sophie pull in every resource they can. They follow every lead, searching for clues, and meet a dead-end at every turn. They know they are on a fixed timeline before another victim appears in the park. The killer is clever and leaves almost no clues. Pushed to use all their combined experience, knowledge, and skills to repay a debt to Lt. Otake, Mas, Sophie, and their team are under pressure to work outside the box and end the killings.
